Spielzeugmuseum Lydia Bayer, Nürnberg
The entire spectrum of historic toys, from antiquity to the present day, unfolds behind the Renaissance façade of a Burger's house in the heart of Nürnberg's Old Town: wooden and tin toys, dolls, home-made toys from the post-war period, and today's high-tech toys. Since opening in 1971, the Toy Museum, based on the collection of Lydia and Paul Bayer, has attracted over four million visitors from both Germany and abroad. The museum shop offers a variety of toys, posters, and postcards.
